Bus Trip 16 Provides Business Leaders an Inside Look at Georgia Education

The Georgia Partnership for Excellence in Education’s 16th Annual Bus Trip Across Georgia is shaping up to be an exciting event providing participants with an inside look at a variety of schools and education programs.  There are many good news education stories and this event provides the proof.  

One example is the visit to 12-For-Life/Southwire/Carroll County Schools on Oct. 28.  This program is a classic example of how a business working hand-in-glove with a school system can make a difference.  The name 12-For-Life is a representation of the program that presents relevant, career building instruction and aims to keep young people in the education pipeline until graduation when their prospects for a more successful life have been realized.

US Congress Passes Economic Stabilization Act of 2008

On Friday, October 3, 2008, the United States Congress passed and the President signed the Economic Stabilization Act of 2008, a bill intended to stabilize the nation’s financial markets by freeing up credit and ensuring taxpayers that their investments are safe.
