2008 VoteForBusiness Bandwagon is Headed to Georgia

In 2006, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce engaged in its largest political efforts to date, investing millions in voter education and mobilization to focus on the issues that mattered most to the business community.

As part of that effort, the VoteForBusiness Bandwagon embarked on a 12-state tour to endorse business-friendly candidates, register voters, and pass out literature supporting business legislation.

The success of the ‘06 tour was due to strong partnerships with chambers, associations, and corporations across the country. Based on the incredible response two years ago, the VoteForBusiness Bandwagon is back and headed for a town near you!

This year’s bus tour is a reinvigorated effort to remind voters of their importance at the ballot box and keep them informed on the issues, candidates and resources they need in ’08.

The buses will makes stops at fairs, sporting venues, local chambers, and other events on their way to the conventions and in preparation for the 2008 election season.

It’s our hope to make a stop near you to push voter education, partner on a policy issue, or join you to support a strong pro-business candidate. The tour coincides with the August congressional recess, when most members of Congress are in their home districts, and will make stops where the voice of business makes a difference.

Eileen Goulding will be managing the tour that spans the Southwest and ends in Denver. Her contact information is 202-463-5390 or egoulding(at)uschamber.com. Kassandra Smith will be managing the tour that spans the Northeast and Midwest, ending in Minneapolis. Her contact information is ksmith(at)uschamber.com or 202-463-5960. Please contact either Eileen or Kassandra with any questions and to get on board with VoteForBusiness’ largest effort to date.
